Enjoli Hall

I am a third-year doctoral candidate in the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning and a research assistant at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. My work focuses on understanding and enhancing the role of planning and policy in building sustainable infrastructures of care and healthy communities. Some of my previous work has included research on urban and regional food systems planning; regional sustainability planning; and local planning for decarceration. 

Prior to starting my PhD, I worked as a regional economic development and sustainability planner in Western New York. I also have over five years of experience as an educator in both school and community-based settings, inside and outside carceral facilities. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, I am a proud alumna of Buffalo Public Schools. I completed a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and a certificate in African American studies at Princeton University and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning at the University at Buffalo.
